The town of Whitewood, South Dakota

Midway between the towns of Sturgis and Spearfish, South Dakota lies the small town of Whitewood. It is situated astride Interstate 90 highway. With a population of less than a thousand people, it has very little in
the way of shopping but has a timber
industry as well as a livestock feed
plant.

Being only eight miles west of Sturgis,
it is able to take advantage of the
Sturgis (Black Hills) Motorcycle rally
and has a good sized entertainment
center. Otherwise the town is primarily
a bedroom town for employees working
in Sturgis, Deadwood and Spearfish.
