Another news watching lesson

Today's lesson on how to interpret the news.
On political stories, take note of how many
times a party affiliation is listed. If it is a
negative story about one party or member
of that party, you will find his or her party
mentioned in the headlines, sub heading,
first paragraph, somewhere in the body of
the story and in the final paragraph.
If the negative story is about the other main party
or someone in that party, if there is any
mention at all of party affiliation it will
be in the final paragraph. Just the opposite
is true in a positive story. Were you aware
the vast majority of news readers never
read beyond the first couple of paragraphs?
